Rapunzel invites you to a party – Medieval fairytale festival at Trendelburg Castle

The Burghotel Trendelburg invites you to the twelfth medieval fairytale festival. Jugglers and showmen, knights and princesses, artists and the hard-working castle spirits all do the honors.

Traditionally, the Burghotel Trendelburg invites guests to its enchanted castle courtyard on Ascension Day, 14.05.2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., where all kinds of attractions await guests.

Albert Völkl and his sophisticated puppet theater and the puppeteer Castello captivate guests of all ages with their fairy-tale stories, while the musicians of Saltatio Draconum play for everyone’s entertainment.

The knights of the Freyschar zu Bokenrode set up camp on site and don’t miss the opportunity to thrill their audience with authentic show fights.

Those with a taste for martial arts can test their skills at archery.

Rapunzel opens her tower to visitors (for a fee) and is also available for a photo shoot with fairytale fans.

The versatile artist Robaria has brought his snakes with him, which the very brave can also see up close. Robaria also makes the flames dance and the sparks fly in his fire show.

You can find many a beautiful all-rounder at the various stands: Handmade jewelry and a large selection of wooden knight toys are just a few examples.

If you want, you can even try your hand at the blacksmith’s anvil and forge your own gem.

Of course, the hard-working castle spirits will ensure the physical well-being of all visitors and, as a special treat, there will be the coveted and delicious knight’s bratwurst. This year there will even be a vegan version. And the currywurst with its delicious sauce is also available in a vegan version.
